How To Draw Up Testosterone for Injection:

Steps to draw up testosterone for injection:

1. Always sterilize the top of the bottle before you introduce the needle

2. Screw an 18 G (gauge) needle onto a 1 ml (milliliter) syringe

3. Insert the needle into the small circle on top of the bottle and turn the bottle upside down

4. Withdraw the needle so that the tip is below the level of fluid

5. Pull back on the plunger to begin pulling in the oil

6. Push the plunger back and forth to remove any large bubbles (don’t worry about small bubbles)

7. The end of the plunger has 2 black lines. The line closer to the needle is the one to go by to measure your dose

8. Line up the black line with the dose is says on the box (for example 0.8 ml, means draw until the line is at 0.8)

9. Unscrew the 18 G needle and screw on the 25 G needle

10. You are now ready to inject

Steps to perform a ventrogluteal testosterone injection :

1. Always sterilize the top of the bottle before you introduce the needle!

2. With an alcohol pad sterilize a large area of skin at the top outer part of the glute. It is best to do a large area to ensure you inject in a clean spot.

3. Remove the cap and pinch the syringe between your thumb and fingers. You can use your index finger to depress the plunger.

4. Quickly insert the needle into the skin. Inserting the needle quickly will minimize any pain. Be sure to insert the needle all the way in. Doing the shot too shallow may cause your skin to react to the shot.

5. Using your index finger depress the needle until all the medication has been injected.

6. Remove the needle and place the cap back on. You can then discard the needle.

7. You should press firmly and rub in a circular motion over the injection area. This will disperse the oil and make it less likely to have an injection site reaction.
